Unexpectedly in Love

Unexpectedly in Love: A Second Chance Single Mom Christmas Romance (Christmas Mountain Clean Romance Series Book 6) by [Oram, Jean]

I was able to get an early copy of this book and it’s another great one from Jean Oram. It’s a shorter read than most of her other books, but that doesn’t make it any less wonderful.

Joy and Steve have known each other since high school. They were always bumping heads and verbally sparring each other. After Steve moved away, they moved on with their lives. Joy to settle down, get married, have a child and get a divorce. Steve was out having adventures and living life to the fullest. Fast forward a few years and they’re suddenly next-door neighbors. This book does a wonderful job showcasing how their personalities have grown, revealing the past of what formed them and following them as they fell in love.

This book was super sweet and a delightful read. I plan to get it on Audible when it comes out. It’s one I’ll love to have read to me.

Mail Order Soulmate – Book 6

I got an early copy of this book and I’m so very glad I did. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The story of Zach and Catherine was very intriguing. The idea of there still being mail order brides in this day and time is fascinating (yes, some googling happened).

This story is located in the mountain town of Blueberry Springs. Zach is an ex-international agent who is trying to settle into civilian life. He has a tendency to order everything online, this includes, to his surprise, a new wife and built-in family that includes her 2-month-old son. Catherine is on the run from her past. She discovers Zach online and marries him as a way to hide. Fast forward and she’s now standing on his front porch meeting her new husband.

This story is filled with excitement and they grow to love each other while finding the balance of sharing their lives with a stranger and learning to trust each other. Throw in some danger and protection and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a great story. Trying to discover each other without being overwhelmed by the welcoming town brings some great laughs.

This is a great book to read while curled up next to the fire with some cocoa. (Yes, that’s actually how I read this book). Get this book and settle in for an exciting time. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go have a second read through.

Guys, I am absolutely OBSESSED with this series, not only have I read these books multiple times, but I’ve also listened to each one as an audiobook. This series is done so wonderfully. This is a romance with a story! The Summer Sisters Series is written by Jean Oram and tells the story of each sister coming into their own in life and falling in love. Each independent sister is unique in their own way but they’re all fighting for the same thing, saving their families cottage from being sold at a tax auction for back taxes.

Love and Rumors – Book 1

I read this book (ebook) a couple of times a few years ago. When the author, Jean Oram, advised that it was on audiobook and I thought I’d download it again and reminisce on the Summer sisters. The narrator of this book has such a cheerful voice and tells the story with great energy. She also does a good job of trying to differentiate unique voices for each person.

As a personal preference, I prefer romance novels that are more about the story of the characters rather than straight-up sex scenes. While the book does have sexual moments, I think it still has a great balance with an interesting and thoughtful story.

This romance is set in a small town in Canada and features Hailey, an award-winning photographer, and Finian, a Hollywood movie star who had come to Canada to find himself. Hailey and Finian are opposites whom each has a personal battle to deal with while fighting falling in love. This is a fun read!

Love and Dreams – Book 2

After deciding to rent out the cabin to help pay for her part of the past-due taxes, a strong and determined Maya meets Conner, a burned-out workaholic trying to get his life and health back on track. Both attempt to keep their distance but that Nymph Island magic draws them together.

While Maya fights to save her family’s cottage and (against his will) Conner’s company. Conner does his best to try and ignore all things work-related. He takes his goal of healing to the extreme until he finally learns to find a balance.

I’ve grown to really love this close-knit family of sisters and mother. It’s exciting to experience their love for each other and their willingness to do what needs to be done to help and protect each other. As always, anything that contains the adorable Tigger is the absolute best!

Love and Trust – Book 3

Melanie is a recently graduated lawyer who is trying to find her place in the world. Tristin is a former cut-throat developer who is doing his best to hide who he used to be while bonding with his teenage daughter.

While trying to raise her part of the past due tax payment, she also does her best to stop the unscrupulous developments that are happening on the island next door. When Tristin’s daughter Dot gets hurt due to negligence, Melanie and Tristan both work to shut down the building process.

This was such a wonderful book. The interactions between Melaine and Tristin were intense. I am very glad I have book 4 queued up and ready to go. The cliffhanger for this one was intense. I have to find out what happens with Daphne!

Love and Danger – Book 4

Daphne is a free spirit that believes everything can be solved peacefully with love and a conversation. Evander is an ex-army man turned bodyguard that’s seen the dark side of the world and knows that’s not the case. With the help of Nymph Island and destiny, this unlikely pair finds love.

All Daphne wants is a father for Tigger and someone to love her. She’s willing to overlook pretty much anything to find that for her. That includes trying to work with her misguided ex to get him to be a part of Tigger’s life. Evander is their bodyguard who is determined to do everything in his power to keep them safe from the threat Daphne refuses to acknowledge.

This story has many twists and turns and draws you in with its excitement. It also strongly features the ever adorable and bright Tigger. I definitely recommend listening to this one on audiobook because the narrator Vanessa does a wonderful job with all the characters (Tigger is still my all-time favorite. I’m pretty sure I say this in all my reviews.) Plus, you finally get to find out what happens with the cottage in this book!!

Love and Mistletoe – Book 5

I listened to this book as an audiobook, but I’ve also read it as an ebook. I tend to bring it out when the holiday season hits to get me in the mood.

Simone is a talented designer who wants a baby and will secretly do what she can to have one. Josh is a smokejumper who is trying to accomplish his secret dream. On Christmas Eve, after hours of arguing and butting heads, both fall victim to the magic of Nymph Island’s love spell.

This story has many interesting twists and turns, scares and joys. A story you expect to go one way turns a completely different direction and sucks you in. This is a wonderfully written story!

The final chapter of this book is my all-time favorite. 5-year-old Tigger (and her adorable voice) give the story the best ending.
